Living in London Day 2

I'm finally in London and I'm loving it so far! I never realized how big it was going to be and how much diversity. It's so great to see all of that! I've been here for about two days now and I'm starting to adjust to the time although not completely. Today was wonderful. After getting a run down of the center and how we are  going to run things, our directors gave us 40 pounds to go and get our oyster cards (tube/underground passes basically) and put money on it for a week. After finding a place with good wifi, since our internet at the centre is sketchy at best, we went on the tube and stopped at the "Oxford Circus" exit. Basically it was a  huge shopping area with a billion H&M stores. I spent a lot of the day there exploring all the cool shops. It was amazing to see all the different stores, especially because Idaho doesn't really have good shopping. I got a cute umbrella since it was pouring outside and we stopped at a little shop to get some wraps to eat and I found some glorious Diet Coke. After dinner back at the centre I decided to head an outing to Parliament and Westminster Abbey. I sat down on  the floor and took like 10 minutes to figure out which tube lines to take to get there. Then a group of about 10 followed me to the tube and we got on there and headed out to Westminster. As soon as we got out of the station we were right under the Big Ben clock tower. It was amazing. I think that's when it hit me that I was here in London. I felt kind of silly because all of us were freaking out a bit and taking so many pictures. It was easy to tell that we were tourists, but you know, better than never I suppose. We went and explored, took tons of pictures and even found that bridge from Harry Potter. You know, the 6th movie in the beginning where the death eaters destroy that bridge. It was awesome. I totally embraced my inner geekness when I figured out it was that bridge. Anyway, after walking across that bridge we wondered and accidently ran into Trafalgar square. It was so pretty. I made a wish, took lots of pictures and decided I would come back soon to see the huge museum. We then headed back to our flat via the tube and I stopped and got a sweet british candy bar--double decker. Pretty good. I think the jet lag is finally setting in because I am super tired! I'm having so much fun and I'll update some more soon--- possibly with pictures from tonight.

On the docket for tomorrow: Westminster Abbey, changing of the guard, Tower of London and crown jewels.

Question: What are some good candy bars to try... and restaurants to go to?

P.S.

I'll upload pictures when I can.
